Even without his old band, , maintains his slithery allure and rock star stage presence. Weiland, with his latest band the Wildabouts, played a high energy set on Tuesday night at in Denver. The set included many Stone Temple Pilots classics as well as songs from their upcoming album set for late March release.
Just days before his tour stopped in Denver, Weiland’s former band, to play the Fillmore Auditorium on April 15 without its former singer.
In February of 2013 the band released a one sentence statement announcing the firing of Weiland.
“Stone Temple Pilots have announced they have officially terminated Scott Weiland,”
Weiland followed up the announcement with a statement of his own:
“I learned of my supposed `termination’ from Stone Temple Pilots this morning by reading about it in the press,” “Not sure how I can be `terminated’ from a band that I founded, fronted and co-wrote many of its biggest hits, but thatap something for the lawyers to figure out.”
