Riot Fest, the punk rock festival that took place last year in the parking lot of Sports Authority Field at Mile High, announced via Twitter that it will be back in Denver Aug. 28-30.
The location of this year s festival will be announced separately.
Last year, Riot Fest was denied the permits to take place at its 2013 home of May Farms in Byers. County officials worried about the small town east of Denver being overrun with traffic and people.
With about three months until the event was going to take place, Riot Fest settled on moving to the parking lot of Sports Authority field — trading grass for asphalt and canceling a camping option.
Many concert goers said they were pleased with how Riot Fest turned out in its new home.
