Getting your player ready...

The Denver Broncos are in a precarious position with regards to tight ends as Virgil Green is weighing his options with “six to eight” potential suitors.

The Broncos have already offered Green a multiyear deal, but Green is entertaining other options.

“The Broncos have talked to me. They didn’t tell me what my role would be, but they made it clear how valuable I was to them. I love playing in Denver, and I love the fans. But I can’t make the decision just based on that,” . “I appreciate the offer, but I don’t want to react too quickly until I know how other teams see me.”

Despite a paltry statline — six receptions in 2014 for 74 yards and the first touchdown of his career — Green is being sought after as one of the league’s premier blocking tight ends.

With that in mind, The Sport Show AM’s Mark Kiszla, Eric Goodman and Chad Brown discussed the potential impact to the Broncos, given that the team’s other big name tight end, Julius Thomas, has also entered free agency.

Kiszla wants to know how much Broncos’general manager John Elway is willing to pay to keep Green on the roster in order to accommodate what many speculate will be a more run-heavy offense under new head coach Gary Kubiak.

“What I want to know is how much is John Elway willing to stretch his budget for Virgil Green to keep that player on his roster,” he said.
