COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — Opponents of a planned El Paso County wind farm say they might ask a court to block construction until their lawsuit can be heard.

The Colorado Springs Gazette reported Wednesday (http://tinyurl.com/n3yow9q) the El Paso County Property Rights Coalition filed suit March 5 against NextEra Energy Resources and the county commissioners.

The suit challenges the commissioners’ vote to approve the addition of a 29-mile above-ground power line to the project.

NextEra had no immediate comment. County officials have said they gave the proposal full consideration before approving it.

Some members of the coalition said Tuesday that construction could start before their suit is heard, so they may seek an injunction.

Residents have expressed concern over the effects on their property values and health.

The project calls for more than 145 turbines.
