Referee Silviu Petrescu has reportedly been suspended for missing two potential penalty kick calls against the Colorado Rapids in the club’s .

The report said Petrescu missed a call in the 32nd minute on a Michael Harrington challenge on the Union’s Fernando Aristeguieta. The second alleged blown call came in the 49th minute when Dillon Serna handled the ball in the penalty area.
According to those close to the situation, he was also reprimanded for allowing James Riley to stay on the field after a dangerous play on Union winger Andrew Wenger.
In the match, Petrescu did show a red card to the Rapids’ Bobby Burling, forcing Colorado to see out the match with 10 men. The match was chippy, and the Rapids committed 23 fouls, .
