A man is in custody after Colorado Springs police say he intentionally rammed a police officer with his vehicle.
Robert L. Denhartog is being held on allegations of attempted murder, the police department said in a new release.
The incident started just after 2 p.m. Friday when a motorcycle officer tried to pull over a vehicle. The driver hit the officer and his bike and took off. The officer fired one shot.
No one was hit by the bullet, and the officer was taken to a hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening.
Police later found the suspect driver barricaded in an apartment, where he was eventually taken into custody. During the arrest he was injured by a police K-9 dog.
