
1 Suicidal drunk. A drunken man uttered suicidal statements to Lakewood police officers March 8 after being arrested for DUI in the area of West First Avenue and Wadsworth Boulevard. At one point, the man said to an officer, “Where’s your gun? I should just blow my brains out!”
2 Shoplifter runs from police. Lakewood police officers responded to Target, 460 S. Vance St., on March 8 regarding a shoplifting in progress. A man was caught on security footage concealing several high-end speakers inside a black duffle bag. The man ran from the police but was arrested after leading them on a short chase on foot.
3 We’re closed! On March 10, an officer responded to Burger King, 2601 Sheridan Blvd., Edgewater, regarding a man asleep in the lobby who would not leave as the manager attempted to close the restaurant. The man was arrested for criminal trespass and possession of methamphetamines and paraphernalia.
4 Ex sends violent texts. A Lakewood man was arrested March 4 for harassment and domestic violence. An officer was dispatched to the 7300 block of West Jefferson Avenue after a woman reported she had received several threatening texts and phone calls from her ex. One text stated, “I’m gonna pound your face in.”
5 DUI in Edgewater. On March 14, a Highlands Ranch man was arrested for DUI after an Edgewater police officer noticed the motorist weaving in the 2200 block of Sheridan Boulevard.
6 DUI in Lakew ood. A man was arrested for DUI on March 6 after hitting a median on West Sixth Avenue near Wadsworth Boulevard.
