One of two suspects reportedly involved in the stabbing of a Longmont man over a Facebook posting surrendered Saturday evening in Aurora.

Longmont police had identified Mitchell Lee Maitland, 29, as an accomplice in Wednesday’s assault. The other suspect, believed to have stabbed the victim four times before fleeing the scene, has not been identified.

Longmont police said the two suspects drove to Longmont from the Denver area after the victim and one of the suspects got into a Facebook spat over a girl.

Diana Cooley, a spokeswoman for the Aurora Police Department, confirmed that Maitland is in custody.

“Mitchell has been arrested and he’s being held on bond,” she said.

Longmont police described the at-large suspect as a Hispanic man, possibly named Devon or Darian.

The victim has undergone surgery and is recovering.
