Colorado State football coach Mike Bobo announced on Wednesday that the Rams signed linebacker Caleb Smith from Santa Monica College.

Smith has three years of NCAA eligibility remaining and can play immediately.

In his single season at Santa Monica, Smith helped his team to a 7-4 record while earning second-team all-conference honors. He recorded 44 total tackles, including 10.5 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks in 11 games.

The City College Honors Preparatory Academy (Inglewood, Calif.) graduate is the 14th signee for CSU and the first for Bobo.
