music NBC’s “The Sing-Off” hits the stage in Denver

saturday From to “Dancing with the Stars” to “Cake Boss,” savvy producers know that virtually any hit TV series can double as a successful touring stage show. That’s the idea, anyway, behind the 56-city jaunt for NBC’s “The Sing-Off,” the a cappella competition that recently marked five seasons on the air. It’s an overdone concept in general, but a cappella shows are uniquely crowd-pleasing, as anyone who has attended a collegiate version knows. “The Sing Off’s” touring version features Season 5 finalists The Exchange, Season 2 winners Street Corner Symphony, and Season 4 winners VoicePlay on all dates, with Denver a capella group Motive performing at the April 4 concert at the Ogden Theatre. The 16-and-up show runs at 8 p.m. at 935 E. Colfax Ave. Tickets: $32.50- $35, 303-832-1874 or . John Wenzel
