It’s hard to imagine a city that’s capturing more accolades than Firestone has been racking up lately. Ten minutes up I-25 from 470/Northwest Parkway, the town was rated 24th ‘Best Place to Live’ in the entire U.S. by Money Magazine in 2013; Best city for homeownership in Colorado last year by consumer blog site NerdWallet; 6th ‘Safest Place to Live’ in the country, and 2nd safest town in Colorado, by real estate site Movoto.
“Firestone has 15 parks and five miles of trials connecting to two major trail systems,” said sales representative Cameron McDonald with D.R. Horton, who showed me one trail that’s right behind the two model homes that you can be one of the first to tour at Neighbors Point in Firestone – linking a short walk to St. Vrain Schools’ Centennial Elementary, rated 7-for-10 stars (read what parents are saying about it at GreatSchools.org). D.R. Horton has something else at Neighbors Point that may be even more important to you, in a year when many area homebuyers are reporting that their older home sold within days – often at more than the asking price. You can tour the models, but you can also see six homes that are ready to deliver right away – from as low as $382,199. That’s the price this weekend of a Frontier 4-bedroom 2-story plan, with a 3-car side-load garage, 1,999 square feet of finished space, plus 707 feet in the basement for future expansion. It’s on a lot sized at over a quarter acre, with what McDonald calls “a picture-perfect view of Longs Peak.” D.R. Horton has included full stainless appliances in a kitchen with center island, hardwood floor and granite countertops; along with a family room fireplace, extended concrete covered patio, and full-yard landscaping with irrigation and fencing. D.R. Horton Colorado has Home Energy Rating (HERS)scores; and backs the construction quality with individual site testing for soil quality before construction and a ten-year limited warranty issued by RWC. If you like the look of the roomy Keystone ranch plan you’ll tour, D.R. Horton has one like it nearby, around 1,958 square feet of finished space, plus a spacious full basement with extended ceilings. D.R. Horton, notes McDonald, is one builder that’s strongly emphasizing the value of basement space – actually has some finished basement space included in two of the homes currently nearing completion. And if you’re more inclined toward building from scratch, they’re ready to talk with you about doing that up front, as well. That creates near-incredible size potential on a home like D.R. Horton’s Vail plan (you’ll tour the model); shown in a 3-story, 6-bedroom version with incredible loft-play space for kids and an upstairs laundry option. D.R. Horton’s new models are 12 miles up I-25 past 470 to Exit 240, Hwy 119, then east under a mile to Birch Street, and south to Neighbors Parkway, closed Easter Sunday.*All distances and measurements are approximate; prices and availabilities are subject to change without notice; D.R. Horton, Inc. is an equal-opportunity builder. No representation is made that views from properties will remain the same.
