1 Former resident says house is haunted. A resident of the 27000 block of Pine Drive, Evergreen, reported suspicious incidents March 27 involving the previous owner of the house. The resident said the previous owner often arrives at the house uninvited and unannounced. He also told him the house is haunted. A neighbor reported seeing him near the house March 25 when the owners were away.

2 Downtown Golden statue vandalized. Sometime on March 14, vandals poured orange paint over the “Victorian Dress Up” statue of a little girl located south of the Billy Drew Bridge, Golden. An officer found a paint can and lid on the scene.

3 Shoplifter throws a fit. Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies went to Walmart, 952 Swede Gulch Road, Evergreen, on March 27, where a shoplifterwas refusing to cooperate. Staff said the shoplifter tried to run away after alarms went off, then she produced a fake receipt for her cart full of goods. The shoplifter was arrested.

4 Drivers report road rage. A driver and a passenger reported March 23 that another driver drove agressively, spurred gestural exchanges between the two drivers and wielded a gun on U.S. 285 near Conifer. Based on a description of the vehicle, Jeffco Sheriff’s deputies contacted the suspect, who said he does not own a gun and that the other driver was the agressor.

5 Bike not missing after all. Police reported March 17 to the Golden Community Center, 1470 10th St., where a man reported his bike — which he thought he rode there — missing. Officers found the bike at his home.
