A tree-ring circus
Celebrate Earth Day with a new tree (or two) from The Park People’s Denver Digs Trees Spring Sale on April 18. Varieties include Reliance peach, Cleveland select flowering pear, Honeycrisp apple, Montmorency cherry (pictured) and Stanley plum. Trees are sold on a first-come, first-served basis from 9 a.m. until noon at two locations, the City Park Greenhouse (east of York Street on East 23rd Avenue) and Sloan’s Lake Park (West 17th Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard). Any unclaimed pre-ordered trees (of additional varieties) will become available starting at 10:30 a.m. Trees cost between $45 and $65. Rockin’ plants
The Rocky Mountain Chapter of the North American Rock Garden Society presents its Annual Spring Plant Sale on April 18. Hundreds of rare and unusual plants including alpine and dwarf are featured along with several native, water-conserving and xeric options. Mini seminars will offer advice and answer questions; and gardening tools and ceramics pots are also offered.
