Franklin appeared in 21 games for the Los Angeles D-Fenders of the NBA’s Development League this season, averaging 19.1 points, 8.9 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 1.48 steals per game.
Before his stint with the D-Fenders, Franklin played 26 games for the Zhejiang Guangsha Lions of the Chinese Basketball Association and averaged 28.5 points, 6.2 rebounds and 4.6 assists.
The 6-foot-5, 190-pound Franklin was drafted out by the Grizzlies (41st overall) out of San Diego State in 2013 and averaged 1.9 points and 1.1 rebounds in 7.7 minutes his rookie season.
