GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (AP) — The 59-year-old Grand Junction woman who was attacked by three dogs last week says she’s thankful for the help she’s received and wants people to know she’s “doing fine.”
The woman talked to The Daily Sentinel (http://bit.ly/1HbDfiu ) but didn’t want to be identified. She says she’s grateful to those witnesses who were able to pull the dogs off her and has no plans to sue, saying Medicaid payments have covered her health care costs so far.
Mesa County Animal Services director Penny McCarty says the attack was “serious and persistent” and the woman faces a long-term recovery from the April 7 attack.
One of the owners of the dogs, 21-year-old Alexander Rice, says they have never been aggressive and he “feels terrible” about what happened.
A judge will decide whether their fate.
