Three Denver schools were put on a brief lockdown Tuesday afternoon as Denver police searched for a possible armed man.
The lockdown was lifted just before 2 p.m. after the area was cleared of any threats, said Christine Downs, a Denver police spokeswoman.
Police had not apprehended any suspects and were still investigating the validity of the original report, she said.
Douglas Schepman, spokesman for Denver Public Schools, said Maxwell Elementary, Denver Center for International Studies at Montbello and Noel Community Arts School were placed on lockdown due to police activity in the area.
The lockdowns were lifted and the schools have returned to normal operations, Schepman said.
