Roughly 200 volunteers will converge on the Denver Zoo on Saturday to spruce up the exhibit areas for gorillas, orangutans and brown bears.
Their efforts are part of the fourth annual I Make a Difference Day, organized by IMA Financial Group Inc.
“Our mission at IMA is to protect assets and make a difference. That’s how we want to treat the communities we’re in,” said Bob Reiter, president of IMA Inc. and IMA of Colorado.
In addition to the service project at the zoo, IMA volunteers also will be collecting children’s books for students at Denver’s Bryant-Webster Elementary School.
“They’re very near and dear to our hearts,” Reiter said of the students. “This is probably 10 years running that we’ve been doing service projects there.”
