A woman who pleaded guilty in Jefferson County court to stealing from a 94-year-old for whom she worked as a caregiver was sentenced Monday to 12 years in prison.
Amy Jo Rivas, 50, to theft from an at-risk adult, a felony. Rivas was initially charged with 13 counts.
The county’s district attorney’s office says Rivas, , stole $16,000 from the woman she cared for.
