Getting your player ready...

Former Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota takes a phone call from the Tennessee Titans letting him know he’s about to be drafted with the second pick in the first round on NFL Draft Day Thursday, April 30, 2015, in Honolulu. A lot of times when new players join a team and they want a certain number that’s already taken, the new player must pay a price to obtain said number.

Usually it’s a monetary value, a new car or something tangible (like ). But rarely do they have to engage in a battle for that jersey number.

For newly drafted Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota, the price set by Ryan Succop to get No. 8 is to beat the placekicker in an arm-wrestling match.

“Alright Mariota #8 is all yours…free of charge… IF you can beat me in arm wrestling competition,” Succop .

No word if Mariota is accepting the challenge yet.
