May 10: Inviting families to celebrate Mom at the 10th annual Mother’s Day Bird Banding Breakfast, 9-11 a.m. A light continental breakfast is followed by a casual spring hike and a visit to the bird banding station. A stop in the Sweets N’ Tweets gift shop and a used book sale are also options, along with chances to win prizes such as gift baskets, floral arrangements, wine and more. This is an opportunity to see an ornithologist attach bands to the legs of wild birds including sparrows, warblers, thrushes and other songbirds.
