Re: “Which presidential candidate could do better on Mideast policy?,” April 26 Greg Dobbs column.

Regarding President Obama’s Mideast policy, Greg Dobbs asks what any of the Republican presidential aspirants would do differently. He then presents a condensed litany of reasons presumably pre-empting anyone from bettering Obama’s abysmal performance: The U.S. “can’t just wave a magic wand… .” “America’s unparalleled power is still not invincible … .” “Almost nothing rational that we can do to stop them.”

When quoting Ted Cruz’s position on the issue, “We will stand up and defeat radical Islamic terrorism,” Dobbs does so with scorn usually reserved for air-headed fantasies.

Dobbs finishes with, “Hillary Clinton is the only one in the race who has seen how the world works and how the U.S. can work within it.”

Well, we’ve all seen how Clinton works, most recently as an absolutely reprehensible, deceitful secretary of state. The very last thing we need in any circumstances is more of her.

Thanks are due Greg Dobbs for injecting reality into the noise that passes for public discussion of foreign policy in our country. Republican no-no nannies can’t provide realistic alternatives to our present Middle Eastern moves, let alone major domestic problems. Itap just “Don’t, mustn’t, shouldn’t, can’t,” while literally scaring up votes.
