The Arvada Fire Department responded to reports of a kayaker who fell out of his craft on Clear Creek, but later said the kayaker was safe.
A department spokeswoman said a call came in at about 3:40 p.m., with its water rescue team responding. At about 4 p.m., the department said on its Twitter feed that the rescue team came upon an empty kayak, but the owner was found safe.
