“Orphan Black” is renewed for a 10-episode season 4, BBC America announced today. The buzzy clone drama series starring the amazing Tatiana Maslany in multiple roles has yet another claim to fame. Besides being a Peabody Award-winning, widely acclaimed and ratings-rich series, the series has an audience with money.
The network cites Nielsen data to note “Orphan Black” is second only to “Mad Men” in the affluence of its audience:
“With a Median Income of $77K, “Orphan Black” ranks as the 2nd most affluent drama on ad-supported television in the 2014/15 season, behind only AMC’s “Mad Men.” Together, AMC and BBC AMERICA account for the Top 4 most affluent dramas on ad-supported TV this season: “Mad Men,” “Orphan Black,” “Better Call Saul,” and “Doctor Who.””
