Choral Kantorei sings about “The Earth Adorned”

Saturday and Sunday The choral ensemble Kantorei is one of those local arts groups that make Denver an interesting place for classical music. The chorus came together for a couple of informal concerts back in 1997, and has morphed into a regional fixture with a national reputation. The singers break in the warm weather with their final concert of the season featuring Felix Mendelssohn’s spring-like “Six Songs to be Sung in the Open Air” and Ralph Vaughan Williams’ “Three Shakespeare Settings.” The surprise selection is Aaron Copland’s “In the Beginning,” written for mezzo-soprano and choir. Catch it once, or maybe twice. 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Bethany Lutheran Church, 4500 E. Hampden Ave., Englewood or 3 p.m. Sunday, Montview Presbyterian Church, 1980 Dahlia St . $5-$20. Ray Mark Rinaldi
