CBS unveiled its 2015-16 primetime slate with seven new series joining 22 returning shows with “Supergirl,” starring , leading off Mondays in November.
“Person of Interest” is benched for until midseason; CBS abandons comedies on Monday nights for the first time in generations. A two-hour movie finale of “CSI” is set for Sept. 27.
CBS will premiere two comedies: “Angel From Hell,” starring Jane Lynch as “a loud, colorful, often inappropriate woman who claims to be a guardian angel”; and “Life in Pieces,” starring Dianne Wiest and James Brolin in a dysfunctional family’s milestone moments. And three dramas, “Supergirl” based on the DC Comics character, the hospital drama “Code Black” and “Limitless,” adapted from the film with Bradley Cooper (who is co-producing and will have a recurring role).
Stephen Colbert will bow on “The Late Show” on Sept. 8.
Also, Ted Danson will join Patricia Arquette on “CSI: Cyber.”
