
An areal flood advisory has been issued for the Waldo Canyon burn scar near Manitou Springs as another round of heavy rain pounded El Paso County Wednesday afternoon.
The advisory is in effect until 5:45 p.m.
Flood warnings and watches are also effect for parts of Weld and Morgan counties and for the banks of the South Platte River all the way to the Nebraska border.
The Arkansas River is near flood stage at La Junta and is still rising.
Afternoon thunderstorms are also possible in the Denver metro area, although the w
eather is expected to clear up by late Wednesday night, according to the weather service.
Mostly sunny skies and a high near 74 degrees are expected on Thursday.
A high of 72 degrees is called for on Friday.
