AURORA — “This is driving me crazy,” Mountain Vista coach Ron Quintana said.

And he’s not alone.

You’ve heard this before — playoff baseball has been postponed.

The Class 5A and 3A championships, previously set for Friday and Saturday, have been postponed until Tuesday and Wednesday.

Big schools were set to play at All-City Field, but more rain Friday washed it out — and the Colorado High School Activities Assocation deemed the field unplayable.

On Tuesday, Mountain Vista is scheduled to play Grandview at noon, and Chatfield will face Rock Canyon at 2:30 p.m., weather permitting. , there will either be one or two games on Wednesday, the first beginning at noon.

“We might just have a serious game of Whiffle ball today, to break it up,” Quintana said.

In 3A at Butch Butler Field in Greeley, Eaton is now scheduled to play Sterling at 1 p.m. Tuesday, followed by University-Brush at 3:30 p.m. On Wednesday, play will begin at 3 p.m., weather permitting.

The 4A tournament already had been pushed to Tuesday and Wednesday at All-Star Park in Lakewood. It will be and . Times have not been posted.

In the event there is more rain, all three classes will be pushed back to a Friday-Saturday schedule at the same sites.

As of Friday morning, the 2A semifinals at the Runyon Complex in Pueblo for Saturday are a go — Rye-Hotchkiss and Burlington-Resurrection Christian, both with first pitches at 10 a.m. The title game will be played afterward.
