electrified the soggy on Sunday night with a powerful set of songs from their extensive catalogue and their new release, “Modern Blues.”
The Waterboys have long been a vehicle for singer-songwriter Mike Scott and fiddle player Steve Wickham, but the band’s current lineup features some of the most impressive session musicians in the world.
On Sunday, the Waterboys performed with the energetic Paul Brown on keyboards and the exceptional David Hood on bass. The band closed out the night with an on point cover of Prince’s “Purple Rain” before launching in to their two biggest hits, “Fisherman’s Blues” and “Whole of the Moon”.
