GREELEY — The trophy case at Eaton High School is certainly getting crowded.
Eaton beat Brush 7-1 in the Class 3A state baseball championship Wednesday for its 11th title and first since 2012.
And No. 11 places the Reds into the history books. No team in Colorado prep baseball history has won more.
Revere, which last won a title in 2010, has 10 championships. Cherry Creek is first among the state’s big schools with eight titles.
Eaton (25-1) needed two shots at its 11th title.
Brush (19-6) beat Eaton 4-3 earlier in the day, forcing a winner-take-all championship contest Wednesday evening.
In the deciding game, Brady Tedesco broke open a tight affair with a two-run double in the third inning.
