PHILADELPHIA — David Dahl, the Rockies’ first-round draft pick in 2012 and one of their top prospects, was seriously injured during a game Thursday after .

“He was involved in a collision in a game. And that’s really all we can say at this point,” said Zach Wilson, the Rockies’ assistant general manager in charge of player development.

Dahl, 21, was taken to a hospital and underwent surgery on his spleen, his father, Mike Dahl,

On the play, Dahl came in from center field on a shallow fly ball and collided with New Britain Rock Cats second baseman Juan Ciriaco, the Press-Register reported.

“He got hit in the face, the nose, the spleen, a bunch of different places, but that’s the main thing right now,” Mike Dahl told the paper. “He probably has a minor concussion, I would imagine, because he doesn’t remember much about what happened.”

Dahl started this season with Double-A New Britain (Conn.), the Rockies’ minor-league affiliate, after appearing in limited duty with the big-league club during spring training.

He was the 10th pick in the 2012 draft and last year played at Single-A and advanced-A levels. He’s
