The site where Colorado veterans plan to rally Sunday for the completion of the beleaguered Department of Veterans Hospital in Aurora has changed slightly.
at 1575 Wheeler St., west of the site, according to a release from U.S. Rep. Ed Perlmutter, D-Lakewood. A location across from the construction site was announced previously.
Perlmutter and Rep. Mike Coffman, R-Aurora, plan to speak at the rally.
Rally organizers say the completed Department of Veterans Affairs hospital campus will provide a million veterans in Colorado and five other states with advanced medical care.
Congress has debated whether to complete the hospital since its , more than $1 billion above its $604 million construction budget. Congressional leaders have also clashed with the VA over the sources of money to use for the project.
