U.S. 85 was closed in Brighton between East 168th Avenue and Colorado 7 for about three hours after a serious accident, according to the Colorado State Patrol.
The Colorado Department of Transportation said the highway reopened after 5 p.m.
The CSP said on Twitter early Saturday afternoon that a vehicle crossed into the oncoming lane and that there would be a lengthy investigation.
