A Clifton man is accused of sneaking heroin and methamphetamine into the Mesa County jail in his rectum on Saturday evening as deputies booked him on drug distribution charges.
Charles Mosby, 54, was first contacted by deputies during a traffic stop before he was arrested on suspicion of the distribution charges.
“During the booking process, (Mosby) admitted to stashing about one gram of meth and about 20 grams of heroin in his rectum just prior to the traffic stop,” the county sheriff’s office said in a news release. “In addition to possession and distribution charges and possession of drug paraphernalia, a felony charge of introducing contraband into the detention facility was added.”
Authorities say the drugs were “naturally extracted” before being processed into evidence.
