1 Butts all over. A woman reported to Jeffco Sheriff’s Office on May 20 that she suspects her daughter and her daughter’s boyfriend of discarding cigarette butts on her property in the 4000 block of Little Cub Creek Road, Evergreen. She suspects they are harassing her because she evicted them from the property. She had no evidence but plans to add surveillance to the area.

2 Walmart grifter thwarted. Jeffco Sheriff’s Office issued a warrant for the arrest of a man who received a refund for a vacuum cleaner he did not purchase, but instead got directly from the shelf, at Walmart, 952 Swede Gulch Road, Evergreen. Because there was no receipt, the suspect received a gift card, which he promptly tried to sell in the parking lot. An employee investigated, discovered the con and canceled the gift card. The suspect left, but called the store twice asking why the card would not work.

3 Nicht gut. A woman called Jeffco Sheriff’s Office on May 23 to report that her husband yelled at her, forced her to stop working and required her to speak only in German. Deputies went to her home in the 20000 block of Matterhorn Drive, Indian Hills, where her husband was angry and began yelling in German. Deputies asked him to leave the residence, which he did, and referred his wife to a crisis center.

4 Cab fare ditch ends in apathy. A cab driver reported two passengers did not pay their fare May 17 in the 17000 block of West 14th Avenue, Golden. Police identified the suspects, but by then the cab driver said he was too busy and did not want to press charges.
