Getting your player ready...

Sunday: For 10 weeks in June, July and August, Sunday afternoons in Denver’s massive City Park will be dominated by the smooth sounds of free, live jazz. The 29th annual City Park Jazz series runs every Sunday through Aug. 9 with a culturally diverse lineup that includes (in chronological order) new and returning names Selina Albright, Annie Booth Quartet, Nelson Rangel, Paa Kow Band, the Messers, Erik Trujillo and the Mambotet, Colorado Conservatory for the Jazz Arts, Lynn Baker Quartet, Ellyn Rucker Trio and the Sammy Mayfield Revue. Grab a blanket, folding chairs, food and beverages and (most important) get there a little early for a good spot. If you need a brush-up on rules and amenities — food trucks, bike parking, prohibited items, etc. — check out . All are at the pavilion at City Park, 1700 York St.
