Police in Aurora are investigating what they are calling a suspicious death .

Investigators say the person, identified only as a male, was found about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday on the 2600 Block North Monahan Street by officers called out to reports of a death.

The inquiry is being handled by the police department’s homicide unit, police say.

“The death appears suspicious in nature,” police said Thursday in a news release. “The identification of the deceased male will be made by the Adams County coroner once the autopsy has been completed and next of kin have been notified.”

Anyone with information on the death is asked to call Detective Warren Miller at 303-739-6117 or Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
