“Oz”-some savings
With a little luck, you can still conjure up a great seat for the “Wicked” engagement through July 5. Denver Center Attractions is running a pre-show lottery, with some orchestra seats priced at just $25 each. Two and a half hours prior to curtain call (11:30 a.m. for matinée and 5 p.m. for evening performances), enter your name into the random drawing at the DCPA box office. Thirty minutes later, names will be drawn. The lottery is available in-person only with a limit of two tickets per winner, with one entry per person allowed. Winners must be present and show valid ID to purchase tickets – cash only. It’s a deal definitely worth cackling about because the tickets are regularly $150 each. The crowds are expected to be large, so have a heart and be patient.
Ice cube
Cool off with iced tea on a hot day. Teavana celebrates National Iced Tea Day by giving customers one of its new handcrafted beverages for free. On June 10, customers can stop by and pick up an iced Pineapple Berry Blue Tea (16-ounce) on the house, no purchase necessary. Limit one per customer. To continue the celebration, get 50 percent off any iced tea beverage from June 11 to 14 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. There are four participating locations in Boulder, Broomfield, Denver and Lone Tree.
Bank on it
Though Alpine Bank is well known on Colorado’s Western Slope, it isn’t exactly a household name in Denver. The independent bank hopes to change that when Alpine Bank’s Cherry Creek location holds its “Indie-Pendence Day” on June 13. Shop at your favorite Cherry Creek North business (retail or restaurant) that day, spending at least $20, and bring your receipt to the new bank at 215 St. Paul St. between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. As a reward, the bank will fork over $20 in cash to the first 1,000 customers. Limit one offer per person. You must be 18 or older to participate.
