Two people were killed and two others critically injured in a two-vehicle crash Friday morning near La Veta Pass.
The Colorado State Patrol reported the wreck on U.S. 160 just after 9 a.m. The patrol said a Flight For Life helicopter responded to the scene east of Fort Garland.
Trooper Josh Lewis, a State Patrol spokesman, said one of the injured was being taken to a hospital by ambulance.
La Veta Pass was closed in both direction for about four hours because of the wreck.
