Authorities in Jefferson County have identified a 61-year-old man .

Lee Chandler was killed as he walked westbound across Sheridan Boulevard near 82nd Avenue at about 9 p.m., the county coroner’s office says. Police say he died on impact.

A suspect vehicle apparently was southbound on Sheridan and struck the pedestrian, police said, then continued southbound on Sheridan and turned west on 80th Avenue.

“The vehicle did not slow down,” police said in a news release Monday.

Investigators are searching for a dark-colored sedan, possibly a Honda Accord.

Police ask anyone who may have seen anything unusual in the area of the hit-and-run at about the time of the collision to call either Detective Alan Stephens at 720-898-6711 or Sgt. Bob Vander Veen at 720-898-6666.
