A 29-year-old woman was killed Sunday on the Cache La Poudre River when the private raft she was on overturned.
Caela Ann DeCarr, of Fort Collins, drowned, the Larimer County Coroner’s Office said. Her manner of death has been ruled accidental.
The county sheriff’s office says they were called to the scene just before 8 p.m. where the woman had been removed from the water. David Moore, an office spokesman, said the woman died after resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful.
Moore said six others who were on the raft and also tossed into the river were uninjured.
“All occupants of the raft were wearing helmets and personal flotation devices when the raft overturned,” the sheriff’s office said in a news release.
