Tuesday Abigail Fischer is one of the most interesting mezzo sopranos singing today. She handles standard opera house repertoire but also a lot of the new music that keeps classical engaging in the 21st century. In the past year, she’s been called in to sing Mahler and Bach, as well as John Zorn, Missy Mazzoli and Stefan Weissman. She brings her adventurous attitude to Boulder, performing the contemporary “Folk Songs,” composed by Luciano Berio in 1964, the highlight of a classical program that also features appearances from local musicians including Erik Peterson on viola, Ann Marie Liss on harp, and Brook Ferguson on flute. 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dairy Center for the Arts, 2590 Walnut St., $15. 303-440-7826 or .
