A 39-year-old man shot by a parole officer in an Aurora apartment last week has been charged in Adams County court with three felony counts.
Michael Shannon Meeks faces allegations of two counts of first-degree assault on a peace officer and one count of possession of a weapon by a previous offender.
Police say two state parole officers were conducting a home inspection at the Monte Vista apartments June 8 when Meeks pulled a gun on them. Meeks was not on parole and was not whom the officers were trying to contact. Investigators said he did not fire the gun.
