A motorist was stabbed during a Denver carjacking early Monday just south of downtown.
Police say a male suspect stole the vehicle — a black, 2006 four-door Toyota Tacoma — on the 900 block of South Broadway. Investigators say the pickup truck has Colorado license plates 966-MFH.
Police say the injured motorist was taken to a hospital with a “minor” wound that is believed to be non-life threatening.
Investigators the carjacking happened about 8 a.m. in a parking garage.
Aurora police say the carjacked pickup was involved in a non-injury hit-and-run crash at 6th Avenue and Airport Road. The vehicle was later spotted at East Hampden Avenue and South Gun Club Road.
At about 12:30 p.m., Aurora officers briefly pursued the suspect into Denver and engaged him in a pursuit near the Cherry Creek Shopping Center. The suspect fled when officers stopped following him.
“We haven’t had contact with the suspect,” Denver police Technician Raquel Lopez said.
Police ask anyone who sees the pickup to call 911.
