A week after I wrote about the many food-delivery services launching in Denver eyeing a billion-dollar market (see story: “,” The Denver Post, May 26, 2015), I heard from two more.
Denver-based will unveil its ordering app next Tuesday, but it’s available as of today on , . Alternatively, text GOBISTRO to 33733 to get a link to download the app. GoBistro launched in 2013 by Mike Keuler and Colleen Eager. GoBistro’s twist is that it offers a set menu of chef-prepared meals every day. You can grab a meal at its Metlo store (at 1111 Broadway) or a handful of locations like Pig Train Coffee in Union Station or Pura Vida Fitness in Cherry Creek. Or have it delivered to your downtown office for about $3. The company partnered with to get our order to you within 30ish minutes. Current special: $5.00 off orders over $20.00 when you download the app.
Also this week, offering beer, wine and Absolut Vodka (Minibar says it has the Absolut exclusive) delivered to your door in 30 to 60 minutes. , MiniBar partners with local liquor stores — one partner is Applejack Wine & Spirits. Minibar also throws in tasting notes, pairing recommendations, cocktail recipes and, what else? A to estimate adequate alcohol purchases and ensure a successful party. For the first month, Denver customers get free delivery. After that, it’s $5 per order.
Interestingly, Minibar’s launch area doesn’t focus on downtown Denver but areas west of the city — and delivering as far north as Arvada, west to Golden and south along the 470 to the border of Chatfield State Park.
The number of these new delivery services seems out of hand, but they’re all chasing an (presumably owned by someone else today). And I can see I’m this.
