The Denver County Fair’s pot-themed pavilion last year, replete with blue ribbons for Best Marijuana Plant and joint-rolling contests, was an astoundingly bad idea.

The pavilion was supposed to be drug-free. Oregano was used for joint rolling. Edibles were supposed to be sans weed.

Yet it should have come as a surprise to no one when about a dozen pot pavilion visitors were accidentally dosed with — wait for it — marijuana.

They sued the pot companies that served the infused edibles. The class-action lawsuit was settled and now the quirky county fair has smartly ditched the idea of a pot pavilion — saying that is so 2014.

Last year’s pot pavilion was meant to recognize the state’s historic venture into legalized marijuana, organizers say.

This year, marijuana is old hat, apparently. being be replaced with a kitten pavilion.
