Former Metropolitan State University of Denver guard Mitch McCarron was selected Thursday to play for Australia at the 2015 World University Games.
The games will take place from July 3-14 in Gwangju, South Korea.
McCarron was honored as the National Association of Basketball Coaches NCAA Division II national player of the year as a senior last season, after leading Metro State to a 26-6 record. He averaged 20.2 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists.
The United States will be represented by 11 members of the University of Kansas men’s basketball team and SMU guard Nic Moore.
