Roberts, a , chose the Buffs over : Arizona State, Colorado State, Kansas, Nevada, Northern Colorado, San Diego State, Utah State and Wyoming.

PrepColorado.com publisher Jeff Stroud reported the 6-foot-6, 260-pound two way lineman called Buffs head coach Mike MacIntyre to make a verbal commit the same week he received the offer.

I just feel like I want to prove to the nation that Colorado athletes are slept on and what better way to do it than staying in state,” . He added, he just felt like Colorado was a good fit.

, “[Coach MacIntyre] said I would have the best opportunity at CU to get on the field, and that made my decision over the other schools.”

He added that MacIntyre offered him at both defensive tackle and offensive line. “It’s rare for a coach to offer at both positions, and Coach Mac said he wants to build around me being a homegrown kid,” Roberts said.
