One person was killed Friday night in a Lakewood auto-pedestrian accident in Lakewood after a person crossed a major avenue in the middle of the block.
Lakewood police are not releasing the names of the victim or the driver who remained at the scene of the accident on the 9100 block of West Colfax Avenue.
The driver was going east on Colfax at 9:25 p.m. when the pedestrian was struck while jaywalking in the middle of the block, according to a press release by Lakewood police Sgt. T.J. Jacobson.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators do not have reason to believe at this time that the driver of the vehicle was under the influence of drugs or alcohol, Jacobson said in the news release.
