Erie police are investigating a report of a sexual assault on Friday between 10:30 and 11:15 p.m. on the community trail directly north of the 7-Eleven store on Colorado 7 and directly south of Windermere Lane in the Vista Ridge neighborhood.

According to the report, officials said, a lone female was walking west on the community trail after a fireworks display and was approached by two males and one female. One male grabbed the woman’s purse causing her to fall on the concrete path. This same male attempted to sexually assault her while the other male stood by.

During this brief interaction, the female accomplice yelled for the two males to steal the victim’s wallet. According to the victim, the suspects then left, heading east on the trail.

The first suspect, whom officials said was the primary aggressor, is described as in his early to mid-20’s, with shoulder length dark hair. He was possibly wearing a cap, a light colored shirt and lighter colored knee length shorts.

The second male is described as being in his early to mid-20’s, with blonde hair and wearing long pants and an unknown colored shirt.

The female is in her late teen’s to early 20’s, with dark, short hair cut in a style that looked like a boy’s haircut.
