
1 Mailbox goes pop. A woman said she heard two loud bangs like a car backfiring outside her home in the 1500 block of Rock Crystal Drive, Douglas County, just before midnight June 29. The next day, her mail carrier informed her that her mailbox had been blown up with what appeared to be a firecracker.
2 Phone scam. A man living in the 9600 block of Coronado Court, Douglas County, said he got a voicemail from a woman in mid June saying she was preparing to press charges against him for two felonies. He ignored the scam until June 27 when his parents received the same voicemail, leading him to call police.
3 Missing mailbox. A woman living in the 6000 block of Belmont Way in Douglas County said her mailbox was ripped from its post and stolen sometime overnight June 26-27 and she was concerned about identity theft. Police found signs that the post was hit by a car, but other nearby mailboxes were not stolen.
4 Satchel snatch. A man’s satchel vanished from Spur of the Moment Bar, 8885 Spruce MountainRoad, Larkspur, after he forgot it there following a post-work drink June 29. The satchel contained his paycheck, timecard and other valuables. As of July 1, no one had turned in the missing bag.
5 Quick work. A woman reported that her wallet was stolen from a cart at Walmart, 6675 Business Center Drive, Highlands Ranch, just after midnight June 27. She said she stopped in for a quick purchase, used the self- checkout machine and forgot her wallet in the cart. She immediately went back in, but it was gone.
